Law, Community, and Purpose with Tee Legal

Tendayi (Tee) Chivunga, Principal Solicitor at Tee Legal, has long been a legal voice for African Australians and other multicultural groups within the community. Tee’s journey to becoming a lawyer began on the shores of Newcastle after relocating from her hometown in Zimbabwe as a student, where she initially found it challenging to establish herself in the legal profession.

However, possessing a steely determination to pursue her dreams has allowed Tee to succeed in founding her law firm, putting her in a unique position to truly help make a difference in people’s lives.

Says Tee, “I’m very passionate about social justice and access to legal services. I wanted to be someone who spoke up for the greater good”.

The areas of law that Tee practices in are as diverse as the clients she works with. While Tee and her team are renowned specialists in family law, they also do criminal defence work, traffic matters, and commercial contracts. Specialising in family law means most of Tee’s clients are women who have suffered domestic violence who seek her counsel in their pursuit for justice.

This underpins the value system Tee and her team use to drive everything they do. Tee says, ”We are not just focused on the law, we are very involved in and are active participants in the local community”.
